On the heels of their wildly successful “Rapping Hamstar” TV commercials for the Kia Soul automobile, and timed to coincide with the
launch of their follow up campaign, Kia’s advertising agency commissioned BrandVia to create Hamstar Collectibles.
“Hamstar” is considered not only to be a “cool” brand within the Kia family of brands, but a car culture standing independently with fans
that purchase the branded apparel, stickers, accessories, and now our vinyl figurines from their online store.
The agency provided Brandvia with an unclothed 3D rendering of their critters, and from there we dressed him with Hamstar apparel and
posed him to reflect his character. Created from scratch starting with a clay sculpture to a wax mold and finally hand painted vinyl,
the end result is a wonderful representation of the stars of the commercials.
